Reading and Making Progress!

Since we started the Reading program last September, the boys have jumped a grade level and a half!! All four of the boys in the reading program are also in the S.A.L.T. program. Our goal is to bring their reading level up so that they will be able to take the captain’s license exam when the time comes. We meet with them twice a week on their lunch break and read through leveled readers as well as the scriptures. Our sweet boys have gone from a first grade reading level to a third grade level! Two of them have, for the very first time, read in front of their entire school during a morning assembly. They are gaining confidence in their other classes, and we are praying that this will give them confidence in God’s ability to change their lives.
