Riding Away In A Miracle!
The MCC building trip
was full of amazing, faith stretching miracles. There is one in particular
we would like to share.
Back in November when Reuben, James Fox and Debra spoke at MCC, they
shared with their church the need for a van to transport the building
teams MM would be leading. About a week later, the Lord provided a great
van through one of the members of their church. Around the same time MM
also had a complete x-ray unit donated to the ministry to give to the
clinic on Long Island. Roy loaded the x-ray equipment into the van and had
the van shipped to Long Island. Reuben would pick it up when he flew in
with the MCC team.
When he and James went to pick the van up at the customs office, they were
both surprised to find out that the customs officer wanted $2,100 in
import duties to get it out. Reuben had only $1,100. He prayed a prayer
that God would not only provide the rest of the money, but that He would
do it in such a way to bring Himself (God) the highest glory. The night
before the team was to arrive, a friend lent them $1,500. The next day the
team would arrive at 1:45pm and Reuben still had to get the van insured,
get it out of customs, take out the hundreds of pounds of x-ray equipment,
and get the van inspected, licensed and tagged. In the past, this has
always been a several day project due to island time and bureaucracy.
So
needles to say, Reuben was full of amazement and thanksgiving when he was
able to go to each office from one end of the island to the other with no
problems or delay. After finishing the very last requirement to get the
van on the road, Reuben drove straight to the airport. He arrived at 13:44
(1:44 PM). The team's plane landed at 13:45! To prove further that God
finishes what He starts, the day before the team left to return to
Virginia, an anonymous donation of $1,500 was given by someone on the
island. That money was used to pay back the loan given to them from their
friend. God definitely glorified His Name! |
