One Busy Summer in Long Island
God definitely orchestrated the schedule
for this summer in Long Island. We believe that God’s heart is to raise
up a generation of Bahamians to answer His call to missions. We know that
God has told us to focus on the youth. It just so happens, that from the
time Rick and Sandy arrive in Long Island, until August, they have
back-to-back activities scheduled with all of the ministries that work
specifically with children and youth. One by one three separate Long
Island-youth ministries contacted our Bahamian leadership team and
requested the use of our center for their summer events. After prayer and
consultation between the two leadership teams, the youth events were put
on the calendar. There were never any schedule conflicts, and there was
always just enough space for rests between events. As we thought about
what this would mean for Rick and Sandy, we realized that this was the
perfect way for them to build friendships with the partners we have in
youth ministry on the island. It was also the perfect way for Rick and
Sandy to get to know Long Island’s youth. We wish we could take the
credit for having orchestrated such an efficient introduction for our new
missionaries, but in retrospect, we know for certain that the credit
belongs to God.
